BioHe had become an orphan at age 15 after losing his father along with his left arm (now replaced by a prosethetic claw) during the Ascension of the Flame ceremony. Those losses aside, Albel still remains cocky and arrogant. This is apparent by his habit of looking down on others and referring to them as worms, maggots, or fools.
It was fortunate that Fayt Leingod and his troupe first encountered Albel under the circumstances that they did. Any other time he would have killed them, but because Albel was never one for taking hostages or 'trouncing weaklings', he let them escape.
However, the second time around Albel was more than ready for a fight. Unfortunately, his over confidence got the best of him and he was defeated. When asked for another round afterwards, wounded and kneeling, Albel hastily accepted. Though his body had to humbly decline. Upon Fayt's decision followed by some verbal mocking, the group had let Albel live on. Though things only got worse for Albel from there.
He was found and then imprisoned back in Airyglyph for treason because he allowed Fayt to pass without a fight earlier on. Later, Fayt and his group were taken to him since he was their only way into the Urssa Lava Caves and they were his only was of escaping imprisonment as much as he hated to admit it. So after much convincing, Albel took them through the Caves to accomplish the task they had set out to do. And once accomplished, Albel separated from the group and went to live his life freely again.
Naturally, living freely again meant that he had time to train so he stayed in the Caves and did just that. Though growing tired of the gradually weakening monsters, he travelled deeper into the Caves to find stronger ones. It seems he might have taken a wrong turn as he soon found himself in an unfamilar place.
